The $60,000 Shot Of Scotch?

Los Angeles’ new most secret shoebox bar Ten Pound is the only establishment in the world where one can enjoy a glass of the world’s most expensive whisky, The Macallan 64 Years Old single malt, priced at $60,000 per shot. Located at the Montage Beverly Hills, the chic luxury hotel located in the famous Golden Triangle near Rodeo Drive. The bar is hidden directly up the stairs from Italian restaurant Scarpetta. The bar is catered to Scotch aficionados particularly Macallan fans, the spirit menu is almost exclusively dedicated to this brand of Scotch. Guests can enjoy this spirit in hand-crafted cocktails like The Jimmy Mac which was a co- creation of cocktailians Jimmy Yeager, Drew Levinson and Tony Abou-Ganim.

“The Jimmy Mac”
2 ounces the Macallan 18
1/2 ounce Averna amaro
1/2 ounce Bénédictine
2 dashes Regan’s Orange Bitters No. 6
Orange peel
Strain into double highball glass over large single piece of ice to minimize dilution. Garnish with orange peel.

For those who want something besides Macallan, Ten Pound has a small menu of other spirits: Pappy Van Winkle bourbon, Rittenhouse rye, Herradura tequila and Nolet’s gin.

Eats come from the Scarpetta kitchen including Royal Ostera caviar ($280), bison tartare ($38), artisan cheeses, seafood and meat appetizers, and sweets like chocolate bonbons.
