Tullamore D.E.W. – “The Parting Glass” campaign

Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey is returning to the town of Tullamore with the building the brand’s new distillery. Construction is already underway on this 50 million dollar investment. The state of the art distillery, which opens in autumn 2014, will bring whiskey production back to the town exactly 60 years since the original distillery closed in 1954.

Tullamore D.E.W. has recently won several major awards – the 12 Year Old Special Reserve won the coveted ‘Master’ medal at the Irish Whiskey Masters and a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2013.   Tullamore D.E.W. Original also won a Gold Medal at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC) 2013.

Earlier this year the brand released their newest short film “The Parting Glass,” produced by New York agency Opperman Weiss in association with British director, Lauren Dunmore of Ridley Scott’s RSA Films.

Paul Opperman, co-founder of Opper Weiss, wanted the ad to feel so authentic that the Irish would embrace its “Irish True” campaign. “We wanted it to be so infallibly ‘Irish True’ that there was no possible way to question it,” he told Fast Company.
