Natalie Jacob (NYC) Wins Remixology Finals
Taking first place at last night’s 2nd Annual Appleton Estate Reserve Remixology Finals was Natalie Jacob . During the Remixology NYC Semi Finals she was full on channeling pop icon, Lady Gaga. Using her skills and crazy cocktail IQ created the “Hello Mai Baby” inspired by Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s hit song “Telephone.” For her second cocktail inspired by New York-based film “Rear Window,” Natalie created “The Miss Lonelyheart” cocktail. Viva Sangrita!! Viva Tequila Ocho! MIA BCH
Sunday The Tequila Ocho sangrita competition took place at Clarke’s (Miami Beach) where 5 sangritas were competing to move to the national finals where the winner will be crowned sending him or her to the Tequila Ocho distillery. The sangrita (don’t confuse it with sangria, means “little blood”) is a traditional Mexican aperitif that is served with a shot of tequila. Miami Rum Renaissance Festival
I had the opportunity this weekend to go to The Miami Rum Renaissance Festival that took place at the Deauville Beach Resort in Miami Beach. This event is actually a week long celebration of rum. Saturday and Sunday was The Grand Rum Tasting, an exhibition of all kinds of styles of this spirit from around the world. The organization of the event was great!
